The Intestinal Lipid Workshop is the newest iteration of a meeting with a long history as a FASEB Science Research Conference on intestinal lipid metabolism, transport, and disease. First organized in the early 2000s (under titles like "Molecular Biology of Intestinal Lipid Transport and Metabolism"), this conference has served as our field's small but dedicated interdisciplinary gathering on bile acids, gut hormones, the microbiome, cellular lipid metabolism, satiety factors, and lipid digestion and absorption in the gut.
Now, the Intestinal Lipid Workshop will consist of a 1.5 day meeting immediately prior to the bi-annual Don S. Fredrickson Lipid Research Conference. We will continue the tradition of mixing academic and industry scientists of all career stages, the opportunity to network casually (through lectures, posters, and career development sessions), cross-disciplinary sessions, international collaborations, an emphasis on early-career speakers, and presentations of unpublished, cutting edge science.
The 1st Intestinal Lipid Workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2027 Fredrickson in August 2027 at the University of Kentucky (modeled after the success of the HDL Workshop). Registration information coming soon!
